Since 1936, Johns River Valley Camp (JRVC) and Retreat Center offers programs year-round for children, youth, adults, families, groups and church communities. JRVC is the outdoor ministry site of the Southern Conference United Church of Christ. 

 

Etched in the foothills of North Carolina's Blue Ridge, JRVC is uniquely positioned beside a defining mountain stream with convenient access to waterfalls, hiking, an archery course, river activities, group interactive courses, a basketball court, and so much more.  

 

In the summer months, JRVC offers both classic Summer Camp and Mission Camp programs.

 

Our summer campers enjoy all the traditional camping activities. Campers learn and grow through aquatics, hikes, archery, crafts, rock climbing, games, vespers, campfires and more!

 

Each summer, JRVC also offers Mission Camp programs to children, adults, and groups. These programs offer an ideal setting in which youth and adults can team together to address poverty and environmental issues. Our programs are designed to deepen one’s sense of connection to God’s world and the people in it.

 

Outside the summer months, JRVC is an ideal place for connecting, reflecting, visioning and building community. We offer various retreats throughout the year and can work with you to create a retreat or special event tailored just for your group.

 

Lodging options range from rustic cabins to modern and comfortable dorm room style accommodations.  Meals are prepared and served in the dining hall by our dedicated chefs.  Retreat Center meeting spaces are equipped with air conditioning, comfortable chairs, wireless internet, and projectors.
