United Church of Christ, Cleveland
The General Minister and president of the United Church of Christ, Rev. John Thomas, has initiated a program to encourage his staff to participate in camp as their schedules allow. The program (named after the street address of the national office at 700 Prospect Avenue in Cleveland) -- 700 Goes to camp -- has generated encounters between JRVC campers and a number of national staff, including John Thomas, Lorin Cope, and Alan Johnson.
Outdoor Ministry Association of the UCC
A national network of UCC outdoor ministry professionals are organized as an Outdoor Ministry Association to extend support, advocate camp throughout the denomination, work to raise standards, and give the camp a voice in other areas of the church (i.e. The Insurance Advisory Board).
